Camlytics

Camlytics can enhance any video surveillance system, regardless if it's a state-of-the-art camera setup or a home-made web-cam surveillance system. The software can detect and track motion, count visitors, send alerts and much more. It can also provide you with a wide range of useful statistics. The program is suitable for anything, from home use to business surveillance and it can even be integrated with third party software.

The program comes in Free and Premium editions. If you opt for the free, one, you will be able to record and store footage, without any restrictions, from any number of cameras, but you won't have any advanced analysis functions. The program is known to work on Windows Vista and all later versions, but you can use it on older versions as well, if they support .NET Framework 4.5.

As previously suggested, Camlytics provides support for any kind of camera, from high-tech surveillance cameras to modest webcams or IP cameras. If one or more cameras are hooked up to your computer, directly or through a local network, the software will detect them automatically. Detected cameras are displayed in a column, on the left side of the user interface and all you have to do is click and drag them to the central region of the window.

Once you drop a detected camera in the preview area, the program will place several ways of handling the footage at your disposal. You can choose to add a camera's feed and nothing else, but you may also set the program to detect motion, objects, count objects and more. You only need to choose one of these methods, by clicking their corresponding radio buttons and you may occasionally need to specify one of two camera mounting types.

The footage for each camera is displayed in its own box, which can be resized and moved anywhere on the interface. You can also apply different layouts with a single click, to arrange the channels instantly. Hovering with the mouse cursor over a camera's feed will reveal options for displaying archives and statistics.
